I have a 2018 F3T SE6 model
It has the new digital dash
Under the tailpiece are 2 unused connectors
The colours are as follows:-
Wire colours
Connector 1
Purple
Purple/Black stripe
Green
Green/Black Stripe
Connector 2
White
Black
Orange
Black
Green
Green/Black Stripe
Can anyone identify what these were used for
Also I want to add an additional Brakelight Can I use any of those unused wire to give me the + & - power to it
I’m not sure
These are the type of connectors that the wires are connected to
I don’t know the name of this type of connector and if you can purchase them to make up your own connectors like you can with the Superseal connectors that were used on my previous Spyder RT
A test light should help to find what is energized and when. I find a test light to be indispensable for situation like yours.
Ours is a red, black and chrome 2017 F3 Limited. Bought new in 2/2019. The avatar is my first bike back in 1952, a Simplex Servi-Cycle. Photo taken at the Barber Museum.
Those connectors in the pictures are Delphi/Packard GT 150 Connectors.
The 16 pin connector in the picture may be the CIC1 connector. Connects main harness to the tail harness. Can't be sure because from the picture I cannot tell where in the chassis that connector is located. The brakelight wire is a white 18 gauge. Located in position P on the connector. One of the outer terminals.
Thanks o Rattlebars and the others that posted information Ref those connectors
I Fitted an extra Brakelight to the rear of the F3T
When I purchased my Shad 58X top box I also purchased their Brakelight unit that supposed to go under the top box mounting plate
Because the mounting plate is on my Rack I have fitted it below the rack
I decided to use one of the 2 connectors not in use under the tail piece of my 2018 F3T
(These are blanked off)
I think they are for the Can-Am OEM top case which can have an extra Brakelight fitted
The connector that has the White wire ( Brakelight power) this is the one you can tap into along with a Black wire (Earth wire)
I use Posi-Taps and ran the wire to the Shad Brakelight unit
Securing the wire underneath the rack
The Shad extra Brakelight is attached to the rack using 3m automotive tape
Ya gotta love those Posi-Taps and Posi-Locks. Aren't they great?!?
