Default Removing panel to install new gauges

I would like to go with the digital information for fuel and temp, but can't seem to get the panel out far enough to remove the existing wiring. Is there some secret I don't know about?
(I know I spelled gauges wrong)

    Default Removing gauges

How do I get the panel out far enough to remove the gauges to go digital. I have a 2015 RT S and can't seem to get the panel out far enough to to get to the wiring. Seems to be hitting on the plastic cover on the handlebars.

Turn the handelbarsall all the way to the right or left. I have removed my dash and replace the factory gauges with a voltage gauge on one side and a USB plug on the other. Very simple to do.
    Thank You

Been there done that ….. If you have Needle nose pliers it's a lot easier, if they are the angled variety - even better …...good luck … Mike

canamspyderaccessories.com has a multitude of videos showing on how to add/change things on the spyder. Additionally a google search of RT Can Am Spyder Dashboard removal and then clicking on video brought many more videos done by members of this board.

Once you get the four screws out slowly pull out the gauge surround. The handle bars need turned to side enough to have a flat surface facing straight up.

Go to "My Albums" to see pictures of what the dashboard looks like with the dashboard removed. Page 4 titled"Dashboard 2014RTS-SE6 in Cognac". Sorry no link.

You will see on the left side 2 wires red/blue with connectors ( that go to the Gas gauge) and on the right side 2 red/blue wires that go to the temp. gauge. You will need needle nose pliers, to remove the 2 connectors ( remove these gently). Be sure to put a soft cloth over the ignition switch so it does not scratch it.

Thanks for the info. Turning the handlebars is probably what I am missing. Will try again when I have some time.
