Scuffs on the brake side
I was watching a review of a Ryker on The Bike Show and I noticed a lot of scuffs on the bodywork by the brake peddle. My chief complaint of the Ryker is the small brake peddle. I have a hard time finding it. Do these scuffs indicate that ryker riders are using the bodywork to find the brake peddle? I have been visually looking down to find it.

Not trying to change the subject here, but could you post an update on the title problem?

You should not have to look down to see your brake peddle. This should be an automatic response aand in a comfortable position. You may not have enough riding time to get use to it yet.

I bought 3m clear protective film and put a strip on both sides where my feet could touch the panels.

I'm usually hugging my Ryker with my legs anyways so, yeah, my boots scuff the panel near the brake. It's no big deal to me.

I'm not worried about scuffing the panels by my feet. It's normal wear and tear in my opinion.

I did have one incident with my Rally model where the brushed aluminum trim caught my boot sole during brake application. I moved the foot peg and pedal toward the rear of the bike by approximately 1/2 inch and have had no further issues. The minor change did not affect my comfort and actually increased my efficiency of actuation. In my case, the current position of my boot on the peg while riding is just short of making contact with the brake pedal. I only need to flex my foot slightly to actuate the brake. I have found that different boots can influence my foot position on the peg requiring slight adjustment of peg and brake pedal position to compensate. As previously noted I also hug the tank with my knees which minimizes movement of my feet under uneven road surface conditions.
