Increase in SS for those on it.
It’s 1.6%, and Medicare also went up a little; leaving me with a grand total of not complaining.

Don't receive it, good luck to those that deserve and receive it.

It's on the "Off Topic" forum, so you can get a variety of subjects on here. I guess it's also time to remind not to break forum rule #2. No political posts.
Anyone who does not want to read about the SS increase, does not have to.

Big deal, they also put a $231 IRMAA surcharge on my Medicare, so I lose money anyway.

Ancient is at least 10 years older than you at the present time. So for me, the 90s would be ancient.

I looked at the charts. I don’t think I’ll ever have to worry about that.

You can't be given anything that wasn't taken from you to begin with.

What's IRMAA? I guess it's been awhile since I've looked closely at Medicare rules.

If you are a person who has higher annual earnings, the Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (or IRMAA) is an additional amount that you pay for your monthly Medicare Part D prescription drug plan . . .
Yeah, that is basically what it is. When you are disposing of investments you made 40 or 50 years ago so you could live well in retirement, they tax you on the capital gains and then turn around and take more out of the social security you paid in all your life to penalize you for making good investments.

They take the Medicare payments out of the SS before you get it.......... same difference. SS is still light that amount when you get it.
