Yes 5.1 has a higher dry and wet boiling point, but high quality Dot 4 is very close and has no long term issues.

If you're talking about the brake bleed outlets on the Spyder's calipers, there's one on each wheel, making up the 3, and one on the ABS Module, making it 4 all told!

The ABS unit takes a larger Speed Bleeder - a 10 mm thread, I think. The calipers take a 6 mm thread.

I was wandering around WalMart this evening, and they were selling DOT4 synthetic. Should I stay away from that too?

The problem with syn brake fluid is it isn't hydrogenous (absorbs water) so the moisture the braking system absorbs travels down to the lowest points - the caliper pistons and can cause corrosion there with dire results.
Although DOT4 does absorb atmospheric moisture, that is a blessing, as it doesn't collect in the calipers. When your brake fluid becomes tan, that's the moisture it's absorbing and a system bleed is needed.

Has anyone ordered speedbleeders recently and installed them? I read on other threads that SB8125L is the incorrect size for Spyders.

I should be getting a set of 6mm bleeders from " them" SOON. I'll post up upon install.

EDIT: I should be getting them in the mail today according to tracking.

My bike took the SB6 125. They originally sent SB8 125 and that was too big.

I've used speed bleeders on my Yamaha Venture and Victory Vision (and clutch). Just bought an 12 RT with 3300 miles. I'll give the Speed bleeder folks a buzz. I'm sure the fluid hasn't been changed and my pedal is a bit soft-I've seen some speed bleeder # discrepancies so I'll get some more info..I really do love these things. No help needed!!!
If I do need SB6 125 for a 12 RT that'd be useful info.

Dave...If your brake fluid does not look like new and is tan to brown, that's water content and it needs changing.
We are birds of a feather Dave....I had a '83 Yamaha Venture and a '92, then a 2010 Victory XR. Now I'm enjoying the heck out of my Spyder.

I had to return the SB8 125L speedbleeders for the SB6100 #. They fit perfect on my 2014 RTS. Brake bleeding is FAST.
