2020 rt misinformation
Dealer deception
Six hours away from me a dealer said they had the 2020 RT Limited’s. Well I’m glad I called because it just means they are on order. Really glad I didn’t drive 12 hours for nothing.

Always a good thought though to talk to a human, especially if its a 6 hour drive one way.

I had a similar experience with my dealer, but fortunately they are only 30 minutes away. I rode out to look at a 2020 early last month, and the dealer showed me a brand new 2019. He wasn't convinced when I told him it was not a 2020. Dealers, know your product, know your inventory, don't set your customers up for frustrations like this!
2014 RT Limited
Ultimate seat, backrest, rear backrest, passenger armrests
Kuryakyn clamshell grips for Goldwing
Wolo BadBoy horn
Scala Rider G9
FOBO TPMS
Custom Dynamics 3rd brake light and turn signals
TricLED side reflectors and LEDs
Aluma MCTXL trailer
BRP hitch
Big Bike Parts wiring harness
Spyderflaps mudflap
Spyderpops missing belt guard and stainless steel grill
LidLox
Providence Ram ball mount with Ram cup holder
Rivco drink holder mount for RAM-X-Grip
Permanent Smile!!!

My Dealer said that the 2020s weren’t any different from the 2019’s. Just showed you how ignorant some of them are.

I don't know if I would purchase from a salesman that doesn't know that there is a big difference. Not sure you could believe very much of what that person would tell you.

Maybe the sales person confused the F3 touring version with the RT. They seem similar to me, but I'm definitely going for the RT.

Me too.I'm afraid this sales person was ignorant. If I get one it will be the knowledge that I know.

The very same thoughts were going through my mind about lack of dealer knowledge. Unless, they were downplaying the 20's because they don't have them yet, and they have plenty of 19's to still sell.
Either way, Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware). I knew that term from economics would come in handy some day.

Salesman have one job. Know what they are selling. As soon as new product come out they need to learn about it.
-
I think the big problem is, most dealers that sell Syders also sell 'other BRP Canam stuff', and the show room floor is full of 'other stuff', so the sales staff sell it all and know little about any one specific item.

Well I think the larger dealers send a contingent but they are the only ones that have seen it. The rest of their team will have no idea. When I rode the 2020 RTL, there were only 5 in the whole world. I know the local BRP rep and he brought it by our local dealer and every sales guy there was seeing it for the first time. So there will be a learning curve.
