    Default My spyder transport system!

Well, here it is! I am not one to trailer a bike. But I now have a neat little transport trailer for those times that I need to take my spyder along, or even if I need to take it in for maintenance. This was originally set up for 2 large bikes, or 3 dirt bikes. Now I will use it for transporting either my spyder or Vmax.

How did you get the two front wheels on the trailer? I only see the ramp for the rear wheel. What make is the trailer and do you have a web address?
    Neat set-up.

I took a set of 6' steel ramps and cut them down to 4'-6". That allows me to drive the front up, set the brake, and then move one ramp to the center. I do not have a link for the trailer, but Kendon and Towblazer make a version of it. I got a good deal on this one used, and decided it was worth buying and seeing what I could make. Very light, but strong trailer. This is my answer, instead of trying to buy a tow dolly.

I like it. Been puzzling over what to do about trailering my ride. Thanks for the post.

Very nice job!!! The only thing else I would do if I was going to use a open trailer would be invest in a nice trailering cover, and some nice mud flaps for the towing vehicle! Good Job!!!

Sweet! Great job. I've been toying with the idea of modifying a car dolly with basically three formed channels to match the spyder tires and make it as simple a possible. Axle, wheels, and bearings should be strong enough to hold a 1k lb spyder if it will support the front of a car. I've seen second-hand dollies for sale from $300 up to $700. Would be a good DIYS'R project.

That is wicked cool. Myself, I plan on just using a 10x5.5 utility trailer I currently have. Something like this may be in the future however. Well done!
