Check the battery cable connections. Make sure clean and tight. If still a no go, may be the battery. Time to check voltage and load test. If you are able to jump start it -- odds are it's time for a new battery.

Got it hooked up to my buddy's pickup. Voltmeter reads over 13 when I try to start but doesn't turn over. Checked connections all good.

Not sure what "just shutdown" means, but did you remember the kill switch?

    Default No Start

Do you mean 'Not Cranking' or something else?
Check the Kill Switch first, check the battery and check if the cables are tight.

    Thanks everyone.

I had just filled with gas, and when I went to start the lights and everything just shut off and it wouldn't turn over. Pulled out my trusty Lamonster battery jump starter, hooked it up, but still didn't turn over. tried it again, nothing. 3rd time my battery pack didn't have enough juice left (I also didn't hit the brake when trying to start it, that could have been the problem too).

Called my buddy who came and jumped me from his truck. checked the cables and after a little playing, finally got it going. Guess I'll be shopping for a new battery this weekend.

    Ryde on,

I knowingly lived dangerously battery-wise this week. On Monday it was quite chilly, around 40, when I headed out to the gym. Turned on the ignition and kill switch, all was normal but the Spyder cranked just a bit slowly as engine started and then the initial warning "Read the instructions" alert reappeared on the RECC screen. Noted the anomaly and rode off. Bike functioned perfectly riding Mon-Wed to gym but Wed on way home I stopped for an errand, came out of store, turned on ignition and all sorts of weird stuff flashed across RECC screen then went totally blank. On two successive retries, zero, zip, nada! I knew the battery was toast but after better than five years, why complain. Out came the Rugged Geek and after the routine battery door removal, an unsuccessful check that it wasn't loosened terminal bolts and a quick jump start I was on the way home again. Moral of story, if you don't travel with a Rugged Geek in your tool kit you may eventually wind up in a losing crap shoot with an aging battery. FWIW, the Geek was at 100% when I jump started the Spyder and was at 79% after the start assist.

Get your Rugged Geek from Lamonster, http://www.lamonstergarage.com/batte...-motorcycle-4/.

I also have a 2014 RTS and replaced the battery last year. 5 years is plenty out of your battery that get so much heat and vibration (both battery killers) The battery in my 06 Dodge Magnum R/T lasted almost 14 years but it's in the rear of the vehicle with no heat and little vibration. Get a quality battery.

Sure did; went right out and bought a Yuasa YTX24HL factory filed and activated battery, expensive but I didn't want to mess with another brand.
