That has worked for me for decades, especially on a truck with no rear view mirror. If you can see ANY of your vehicle in the side view mirrors, they need to be moved outward more.
It's important to be able to see who may be directly behind you. Right now, those stock mirrors with the wide view add-on just don't cut the mustard. I'll still use them because they are very useful for other reasons, but not so much for seeing directly behind me, regardless of how I turn my head or move out of the way.

Added the Slingmods Rear Afterburner LED Tail Light. I have to say they're nice and bright! People should have no problem seeing me from behind.

I added those a couple of weekends ago. I love them! They're bright and also give those behind me another focal point for when I put my turn signal on. Can't have too many lights.

Hit the old 2014 with " Back to Black" ( and ordered another can) . Looks much better as the black and circuit yellow contrast a lot. Speaking of Circuit Yellow.......
I tried to look up so touch up paint for it and found the prices to be silly high ( as much as $45 for less than half an oz.). Idea on this site was to go to wallyworld with their huge selection of nail polish and I came real close for $3.

So far:
Installed my big eye mirrors from Lamonster. BEST upgrade ever - I can see behind me as opposed to the factory WORTHLESS mirrors.
Handlebar end lid locks - two full face helmets do NOT fit in the rear trunk (at least two modulars do not) - so these were desperately needed (the underseat hooks are a challenge)
Passenger BRP armrests - the wife promptly renamed her seating position "The Throne"
Tackform phone holder - great quality and very secure.
Ordered TWO full covers (I ordered one and the wife ordered one to surprise me) - so one will be for sale by owner pretty soon.
Installed the Show Chrome drivers backrest and HATED it (the wife and I are both larger people - and her positioning on the bike was continually pushing the backrest {via the folding system} directly into my lower back - I found it very uncomfortable and unpleasant) - promptly removed it and it too will be for sale by owner soon.
And today - visited a local graphics shop and began pricing out the costs for a color change wrap on the Spyder (looking at my options for wraps or paint).
As I told the wife - if you don't walk away from your bike walking backwards so you can look at it or if when you're walking towards your bike - it doesn't make you smile... You bough the wrong bike or at minimum the wrong color.
Mine is currently the wrong color - but we are going to fix that.

Did the install of the Cat Delete from Lamonster Garage. Had to take it in to the Dealer that I use, for the install as these old bones won’t let me get down that low to do the work. So cost me a hundred bucks Canadian for the job. Well worth it. Went for a short rip just to see how it sounds, and it’s quite a bit louder. I have the Akrapovic muffler. Thanks for the pipe Lamont, appears to be good quality,

For us older and of limited mobility that is a good price and service.
I like the fact the dealer is looking at the wheel bearings and seals during installation.
My dealer charged $160 to mount my rear auto tire and review BUDS and system software.

May I ask where you got one to fit? I got one from Alaska Leather and it was too small, they did give me a quote on making one for it but at just under 100.00 I passed.

I had tri-axis handlebars installed on my 2013 RTL. Liking them so far.
I have a complete wrap on my bike, and today I did a ceramic wax and boy does it shine!
I also polished the wheels with Never Dull, and used Rain-X for plastics on the windshield.
Now I gotta go get it dirty!
