2018 RT SM6 Electrical Problem
We just had the bike into the dealership for it’s 3k checkups. While there they also installed a trickle charger quick connect on the battery. Everything ran fine until last night when my wife went to ride home. Once she went to hit the starter switch it clicked and died! She had it jumped started and came home no problem. This morning I go out to check the charger connection and it’s good. Now however when we go to start it after flipping the kill switch it flickers again and won’t crank. Of course being Monday the dealer is closed. Any ideas on what might be the problem? Thanks in advance Bill

Try to boost it with your car or put a charger, if you have a multimeter takes the voltage of the battery,if the battery has not 12 volts and more there is a problem of charge.

sounds like loose terminal connection or a bad battery.

All connections are tight. Has a vehicle malfunction icon that comes on, then goes off. Bad thing is the dealer is closed Monday. Will call them Tuesday and have them come get it. We had planned on going to the Lone Star Rally in Galveston this weekend so hopefully it’ll be a simple fix.

Well good luck,
Do you have volt meter??? Check voltage at the battery not running. A good battery should be 12.6 v. Then running. Should be a volt to 1.5 volts higher when the motor is running. ( simple charging system check)
Someone here will tell you how to pull any stored codes, this is fairly simple and a good start to you diagnosis.

Did you leave the key on? Leaving the key on and using kill switch to stop bike will kill a battery over night with battery tender hoked up. Tender doesn't put out enough amperage to over come draw.

If you have access to jumper cables you can try jumping your Spyder. See page 133 in the Owner's Manual.
