Battery access????
2016 RT Limited, battery is dead, bought a charger and gosh, what a headache can's really get a very good bite to attach charger to terminal. Is there any aftermarket fixes that can install to improve access to allow jumping? I saw a few things for an F3 but haven't come across anything yet for RT. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Not from BRP, but a lot of dealers put them on.

The Tric LED option is for jump starting ANY Spyder's with front batteries, the battery tender pigtail is for slow charging, having both doesn't hurt.

I'm leaning out of my foxhole a bit on this but I'm pretty sure the pigtail is for battery tenders only; the wire gauge and probably the fuse is not big enough for jumping a Spyder. Mine came with a pigtail and Battery Tender Jr. and I have a Rugged Geek from Lamonster for jumping that I've not used -- yet.

I have the battery tender already installed, left it on all might but didn't budge it, still completely dead. I bought a charger at Thiessen's and have it precariously attached, and although it's showing green saying that it is "Charging" when I turn the key there is no bootup screen. It's only a 6A charger so either have to wait longer. To jump it with cables maybe could hold the clamps against the terminals but would need another body and extra pair of hands. Not thrilled with the idea of holding them on there.
This is another case of BRP shortcomings that just frustrates the hell out of me. My guess is their engineers do not "actually" ride the product they design.

Remember a battery tender does not put out enough to charge a dead battery. You will need something stronger. And a dead battery takes awhile to come back so be patient and give it some time.

yes the pigtail is for charging/ maintaining only, but the other post on top of frunk are for easier access to jumpstart & can attach the pig tail there as well, you just clamp directly to the post for jumping not the pigtail. Sorry if was phrased poorly.

No apology necessary. Your post sent me to the Tricled web site looking at their positive post jump cable and it definitely has merit, particularly if I had to use my Rugged Geek; no muss, no fuss, just pull it out and pop it on.

If where the battery is on your RT bugs you, take a look at the battery location on a 2012 or older RT.

Yep, saw that on a Finless Bob video, you are in far worse shape, still would think that since the goal was to improve it on later models, this was their solution? Should be shot or forced to jump start RT's for eternity.

Use a meter and check the amount of volts it has, it might not have enough amperage, you might have a bad battery also.

Nope. Only the 2013s had them, at least as the RTs are concerned. I guess somebody at BRP decided they weren't useful enough to keep them after 2013.

Those pig tails have a fuse in-line, if it's not passing current check the fuse. Also, you might want to check fuses/relays if it won't start. I installed a Hella Type plug receptacle to the right side under the handlebars with 10ga wire with a 30 amp inline fuse connected to the battery junction bolt behind the right side fuse block. That's where I plug in the battery charger or to give or receive a jump start. I also have a USB port that can plug in there to power heated vest.
