Like you, I bought my BEST extended warranty for peace of mind, since I was buying my first spyder in April of '15. Today @15,400 miles during the 5th annual service, oil and filter change, the tech told me that I needed my water pump replaced. Thankfully, I have 6 months warranty left. I'll be paying the $50.00 deductible for a $400-$500 service. You bet I think the money I spent back in 4/2015 was worth it,

Exactly what is being said. Call around. That's how I went from $1,000 down to $671 for the exact same coverage. The factory B.E.S.T. warrenty is well worth it if you can get it at a decent price.

Thanks everyone for your input. Between the fuel pump whine and unknowns of the Ryker, I’m still planning to buy the warranty (although I almost never do for the reasons given earlier). I pulled out my purchase papers and my dealer quoted me $899 so I’m going to see if they’d be willing to come down under $700. If not, I’ll start calling around.

Agreed, kind of like playing black jack sometimes the dealer wins, and sometimes you win. in my situation $671.00 for 36 months was worth the gamble.

Remember you only need to purchase before your factory warranty runs out. I waited til the day before mine ran out to purchase.

Jaxfann, check the paperwork; as I understand it, BEST is NOT sold in Florida due to some Florida law about warranties. I've never looked into it so don't know for sure.

That's correct, the BEST can't be sold in FL. However, you can still get it. You have to purchase it from an out of state dealer. I bought mine from Berts Mega Mall for both my '12 and '16 RTS. Dale

Thanks for all this valuable information.

As I understand it I can't by a BEST warranty in Florida but I can purchase it in other states (and can shop the price) and authorized Can Am dealers in Florida will honor the warranty if I need repairs covered under the warranty - is this correct?

I guess it is just a crap shoot, when dealing with warranties. I am almost 70 and I have NEVER needed to use any warranty until the wheel nut recall on my Ryker....if that is considered "warranty" work. Any work that I have had to have done to replace anything on my vehicles has been years after purchase and then it was just due to those parts wearing out. On the other hand, my son purchases warranties on everything he buys, TV, appliances, and even his home. And he seems to use those warranties in many cases. I will take my chance and then if I end up spending a bunch of money on repairs, you all can say "told ya so." I do know that just service for cycles is a ton. When I went to the dealer to have the wheel nuts replaced, they did not even have the Ryker service prices posted yet. When I asked them how much it would cost, they gave me an estimate of almost $300. They said that was a guesstimate, based on Spider prices. To be honest with you, I think that after the first service, I will learn how to maintain mine. I stopped doing my own oil changes and what not once I was financially secure enough to pay someone else to do it, but that is more than I can throw away in good conscience, as long as I am still able to do my own wrenching.
By the way, this is just my two cents worth, while shaking my head over the price of these warranties. If I ever need a thousand bucks worth of work done to my Ryker at one time, I'll get it done and then sell it. I had my car for 15 years before I needed to put that much money into repairs, and decided to keep it because it had lasted that long. Just an old man rambling on.............

If you have a Ryker it is still under the original warranty so there should be no charge for the wheel nut replacement.

I think he was referring to the first service (6,000 mile) when he referenced the $300.

I bought my Best warranty within a week of the purchase of my '15 for "peace of mind". This gave me 5 years of coverage until 04/30/2020. Being a low mileage rider because we trailer to destinations, and have a 6-7 month riding season. I've had my Spyder annually serviced every year towards the end of October. Last week with 15K miles on the odometer, and 6 months of Best warranty left, an issue requiring a new water pump was discovered. I'm glad I made that 600.00 investment back in 2015.

IF/IF I was to purchase a warranty, I would not go back to my dealer, even if they did offer it in Florida. In the future, I do not even know if I will return to have it serviced there. Why? Because of two reasons:
#1 (my fault for not paying attention) they sold me GAP insurance when I said specifically that I did not want it. My fault for not realizing that the increase in the total cost had NOT decreased from the original price they quoted.
#2 (also my fault for believing them) they said that there would be NO/NO interest charged in the first year (and it was in the booklet as a special offer) and I am being charged monthly interest.

I plan to pay it off once I sell my Harley, but since they were not honest with me, I am in the process of refinancing via the credit union. I will never do business with that dealership again. Even though it was my fault for not paying full attention to the transaction, it was shoddy business practices and their being dishonest with me that caused them to lose my trust. I will never recommend them to anyone else, even though the service Dept was real good to me.
There is a chance that the whole unfavorable incident/sale experience is due to the finance guy and his unethical processing of the loan. He wanted to tack on every extended warranty and insurance he could think of and I told him that I fully intended to pay it off as soon as I sold my Harley. So, it appears that even though they promised me no interest for the first year and even though I declined GAP insurance, I am paying for both.

I take responsibility for my not paying attention, and I really do enjoy my Ryker, but I am disappointed that as a new customer to the brand I was not treated more honestly. I am not on here to whine but to WARN others to be careful and not make the mistake I made by being more absorbed in the excitement of the new toy than paying attention to the slight of hand that some salesmen/businesses use if one is not attentive. My mistake will ultimately cost me about $2000 more than I needed to pay, but I can chalk that off to learning an old lesson again. At my age, I should know better than to be conned by smoke and mirrors.

If you think that a warranty is right for you, go for it. I have never needed one in all my years. The only warranty work that I have had done was a one year manufacturer warranty on my TV when it was damaged by a lightening strike nearby. Other than that, I consider myself saving thousands in extra warranty costs that I did not need. Maybe my maintenance schedule has circumvented the need? Just something to think about. If you have extra money to invest in a possible NO return then go for it. It's kind of like going to a casino, take money you can expect to lose because the chance of return is slim.
I am not attempting to talk anyone out of paying for an extended warranty. Just taking an opposing but legitimate view. I guess if we truly wanted to save money, we would not be buying these toys to begin with.

I purchased a 5 year extended warranty for $912, through my Dealer (Morris Motorsports Chikasha Oklahoma). I did purchase 2 units (my son and I) 2019 Ryker Rally's. They advised me of the motors for life, but I wanted my warranty to last longer then 1 yr., I know warranties are a crap shoot, but the first time you need it and don't have you'll be upset, on the other hand if you buy it and don't need it, then it was a waste of money.

What dealer did you get the $620 deal from? I have 2 Rykers that I want to add the extended warranty to.
