Seat install quick question
Hello,
I assume all seat installs are the same . In my case, I'm replacing my Corbin with a Russell Day Long. My question is about the metal sleeves where the seat connects to the bike. I'd assume you'd put the metal sleeves in first and then put the seat in place? True? I'm having a hard time sliding the seat in position so I can connect the seat with the bolts. (I have MS, so that's probably the real problem)
Anybody have any hints to get it in place so I don't swear so much?

Yes, put the two metal sleeves in the seat hinge first. There are two nuts that slide in channels. The do tend to slide and will fall out if you are not watching. Put a glob of mild grease, like Vasoline, on the nuts so they don't slide by themselves. On my RT, I found it helpful to remove the seat back cushion. This gives you a lot more room.

Use VASOLINE to keep the sleeves from sliding around while inserting seat!

My seat back is removed and I have a towel stuffed in the black hole of no return. I'll just keep trying. I see more swearing in my future. MS sucks. Thank God for my Spyder letting me keep my face in the wind and thanks for everyones advice

A little freezer tape on both sides will hold the bushings in for you then just punch the bolt threw when you get it lined up!!!!

That’s how we do it; blue painters tape. Tape the nuts in place, tape the sleeves (bushings) in place, slip seat on. Use plenty of rags or tape to cover all the holes where hardware goes to disappear. Joe

Just to update, getting those nuts in place with my uncooperative hands, was a &%#$ but.....
Russell Day Long installed. Short day ride later, and for me, it is sweet! I also have the backrest and it's incredible IMHO. Can't wait until it is actually broken in!
Now just have to wrestle with connecting up the heated seats.
Thanks for everyone's help! Great group of folks here.
