Default Did can am significantly change the RT seats between 14 and 19?

I just came from my local dealer. I sat on a couple 2019 RT-Ls and found the seat height to be much lower than on my ‘14 RT-s. Did they chang tee seats between my year and now? If so I’m going to try to get a 2018+ seat because my 2014 doesn’t agree with my butt.

The spyder I rode at the can am class was a 2018 RT-L and I was on it 10 hours a day for two days in total comfort.

    Any input is appreciated

Seats are pretty much all the same height for 2014 to 2019. There are two seats that BRP has the standard and the comfort seat. You were probably sitting in a comfort seat when you were driving the 2018 and I will note that the 2018 and up has upgraded power steering form the 2014 model so that may help with comfort with slower speeds. If you got your Spyder new you may have the standard seat on it or if you got it used it may be an aftermarket seat. They are easy to upgrade, many types including the BRP Comfort seat.

Believe the 2020 RT is going to be ¾" to an inch lower

I think maybe the previous owner may have altered the seat

There were 6 RTs at my dealer 5 were limited one was a base, all had the same seat and I swear they sit at least 1” lower than mine. My legs (thighs ) on my bike are angled down at about 15 deg but on the ‘19 my legs are nearly flat.

That is possible they do make tallboy seats where they are higher for taller people. Like Ticketbait said above only the 2020 RTL model will be a little lower and I'm not sure they did that buy changing the seat height.
