Suggestions please
Both the fuel level and engine temp gauges on my 2015 RT have been disabled in favor of using the digital display on the screen. Consequently I want to remove both and replace them with something useful and I'd appreciate suggestions. USB ports? Volt meter? Push to eject button?
Thanks for any suggestions!

I put in a Volt meter I got off ebay. It is 52 mm in size. I think it was under $25 but I don't remember now. Just ordered a 12 volt socket for the other side from JT's machine shop

My '14 RTS came from the PO with a Voltmeter on one side, and an oil pressure gauge on the other. The USB ports are in the middle of the buttons on the "dash". Sometimes buying used has it's advantages, lots of stuff I don't have to add. On the down side, there's stuff I've removed - XM Radio, SMH10, flag holders. And now it looks like I'll need a new front caliper.

I didn't get fancy. I used a 2 port USB on one side to charge Sena etc and a 12V outlet on the other for my GPS. A clock would require separate power from the battery. I just used the gauge power, works fine.

Appreciate the feedback everyone. I ride with an Apple Watch so I’m not sure if I’ll put in a clock or not. The dash clock as everyone has noted must run on some sort of “there are 400 days in a year” cycle it runs so fast.

This prompts a question from me. I'm not good with a wrench as has been well documented in some of my other posts, but oil pressure gauge vs the warning light on the panel. Is the gauge redundant?

Ah yes...many years ago we referred to those lights that came on when it was to late as "idiot lights"....a guage would let you know your oil pressure and condition. Of course now they do have the added feature of shutting you down when the light comes on to save you....volt meters let you know how your chargings is going and your consumption of said volts. Check out others you would like to watch in action.

Not sure, seems like a USB port could always be handy as I run my sena’s paired to my phone but I also carry a spare battery for it. I guess I might be leaning towards a voltmeter for the other one.

I've always wanted to install a nice RPG system with a dash mounted igniter. You know. For clearing out those pesky slow drivers blocking the roadway...

I put a volt meter on the right and used Bob White's idea for mounting a Ram X-Grip, for my phone, on the left.

Ok giving this a pre xmas bump for additional help. I've decided that I want to put a USB/volt meter combo where the analog fuel gauge is and a clock where the temp gauge is. For those that have done it, any suggestions or how did you do it? I can find 1 inch USB/Volt combos that are meant for cigarette lighters which would mean I need to by a hole cover for the 2 inch hole where the gauge went then bore it out and put the 1 inch USB/volt combo in it?
I am learning late in life what many of you grew up learning to do so any help or product suggestions are appreciated.

I painted Deanna777's dash surround and that's what you will also need to remove …. 4 screws to detach it ….. However BRP gives the least amount of extra wire they can ….. so if you angle needle nose ( they work best here ) or any needle nose pliers, removing the connections will be much easier ….. then add the gauges of your choice , on my 14 RT I made my own spacer surrounds to fit the 12v plugs I added …… good luck ….
