    Default RT steering issue

Kim and I just finished a week long trip on our RT and F3L and want to talk steering.
First let me say there is no warning lights on the dash.
The steering on the RT has gotten very stiff especially when sitting still. When I start my F3L you can feel the power steering unit kick in and the steering becomes easy even at a stand still. However the RT is not that way. I do recall when we first purchased it in 2016 the steering was much easier. The only thing that was added over the years was the anti sway bar and Elkin shocks.
Any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this issue?

I have no actual experience with this, and hate to be a parrot, but I have read this often enough to warrant mention. Check your battery and battery connections. More than a few mentions through the years of loose connections or a failing battery causing such as this.

Everyone will tell you this and I have found it to be true. Clean the battery terminals and the ground connection. It works miracles.

    Default Little checking.....

Start by checking tire air pressure and keep in mind the RT is somewhat heavier than the F3. DPS failure generally will give lights and codes possibly have some codes stored and can check with BUDS. Start with the air pressure as tire type (car/motorcycle) do run on different pressures....

I'll also suggest the battery first. This happened to me. The steering at times would appear to stop working or be weak. A weak battery or failing connections will cause it.

The best explanation I've heard is the DPS module take the electrical power directly from the battery rather than the generator. This is not uncommon in the motorcycle world; having accessories powered from the battery and then the generator replaces the electricity in the battery instead of powering the accessories directly, like a four wheeled vehicle.

I've noticed the steering in my RTS feels a little hard to turn sometimes, but since it's my first, I don't have anything to compare it to.
