Limp Mode Home

Hey Spder Loverz! My Limp Mode Home light popped on out of nowhere on my 2017 F3 spyder. I have 4800 miles on it. Its giving me a code P0340. This bike is still new in my eyes. Can anyone tell me if I'm really having issues or is it just a hiccup. My spyder runs fine no slowing down still runs new. What could it be?????

Code P0340 is an error on the camshaft position sensor signal. One of the possible causes listed is a blown fuse that you can check yourself. The other possible causes and remedies I think require B.U.D.S. to check and reset if necessary.

Although I have no factual knowledge on this, there may a bad batch of these sensors. I know of 5 2017's (Rt's and F3's ) that have had to have these sensors replaced in the past year. Mine included.

sorry, I do not know the answer. I had my dealer fix it under warranty

YEP! I too have the P0340 Limp home mode. 2017 F3T 16,000+miles.

Had the same problem with my 2017 F3S-SE6 at 7,097 miles. Bike parked in the garage for one week waiting for my appointment with the dealer. Two days before my appointment, I took the bike for a run to see if it was drivable up to 70 MPH. No issues with the RPM or MPH. Got home and noticed the Limp Home Mode and the blinking Check Engine light cleared itself. I nixed the idea of canceling my appointment with the dealer (30 miles away). Glad I did because halfway to the dealer, the Limp Home Mode and the blinking Check Engine light came back on and stayed on. Showed the problem to the dealer and they replaced the camshaft position sensor assembly. My extended service warranty (Western Service Contract) paid for the repairs ($215.78).
