    Finally got to changing the oil, did less than 30 miles on the bike. It looks a little shinny but no actual shavings and nothing picked up with magnet. Just remains of old problem clearing out?CFC6C05F-51F1-4BA8-8275-690BC88FCA38.jpg

    The specs are bubbles, took picture right after i drained it. The swirls are what im referring to as shiny, or is it nothing?

    Sorry about that Lively but as was said earlier, the problem is yet to be found. There's far too much metal in there to be residual. Get another complete engine and be done with it.

    Why couldn’t it be? There was ALOT of metal shavings before. This time there is NONE just the metallic look in the oil. Nothing was picked up by the magnet.

    Couldn’t it have cleaned up the remainder metal that was left from before?

    That's not just the remainder left over from before, that would've almost all come out with the big chunks of metal when you drained the oil before, and anything left should've been barely discernable in any subsequent oil changes, if visible at all! What it looks like you've got there is a WHOLE LOT of new & really REALLY finely chewed up metal in that relatively new fresh oil!!

    The fact that you got all the big chunks of metal out with the last oil change only makes seeing this much metal & debris suspended in the next lot of oil that much WORSE!! No big chunks coming out &/or being picked up on the magnet most likely means the damage has already been done, and this next lot of suspended metal in the oil appearing now means that something is still being chewed to bits inside, but it's clearly not being chewed up by those big chunks that you've already removed..... Definitely NOT what you wanted to see in the second or subsequent oil changes!

    Been reading this post... if you now have it running fine id just fill it with oil and enjoy it.. if your [maybe] going to need a new engine id run this one to destruction which may or may not happen. On the other hand if it runs fine, your now in a good place to part exchange it for something newer.

    Yeah Curlytops is right(?). Ride and see what happens -but change the oil filter first as it will be blocked.

    i removed the oil screen as asked before and it did have some metalic oil on it, however this is my first time ever removing it. but nothing other than that and that was only on the shaft area not on the screen itself. Im going to change the oil again and ride.

    It's the oil filter you need to replace. Good luck with it.

    You will need to replace the oil filter at each oil change.

    The oil drained out, is low time and in a good engine would be cause for concern.

    Yes, it is possible, if this is the first oil change since all the work that was done, that the new oil kind of washed the internals, suspended the previous debris, and it came out with draining the oil.

    Without being there or knowing the history from prior to the engine issues, there is no telling how long or whatever the previous owner did.

    If it were me, refill with the correct grade oil, replace the oil filter, the ride only a few hours max. Drain the oil again while hot, and again replace the filter.

    Now, you will use white paper towels and when the oil again is hot and circulated, place a sample of the oil, on the white paper towel. Using the dipstick as access to the oil this is an easy check. Ideally the oil remains new looking on the towel.

    If the oil on the paper towel is gray colored or darkening, you may need to change the oil and filter early again.

    The downside of seeing the drained oil in the photo, the gray color often indicates aluminum is being worn. The silver sparkles floating on top of the oil, is likely aluminum. On race bikes with aluminum clutch plates, the oil turns gray quickly.

    What you must do is determine if the condition improves or continues. If you follow what I suggested, you will get an idea on how things are trending. You certainly want the fine aluminum out of the engine. Consider that if the condition does not improve, then something is going on and at that point you should consider a plan.

    okay so i finished the oil change today as that was only from the tank. and there were some flakes. They were small and about 10-15 not too many... compared to last time. @PMK im going to give what you said a shot and see what happens. It is indeed aluminum though, maybe from the front cylinder? but we will see in due time. I wont have the results till next week as im waiting on filters to arrive from amazon and work the weekend.
