I had a 2001 Tahoe with the cat removed, I did weld the cage back up around the bypass pipe to pass visual inspection, never once failed the "ODB sniff test in IL.
IMHO cats doing nothing for emissions and that further proved it to me.
Yep, it's pseudoscience. Emission technology, design, manufacturing and distribution can not keep up the pace with pseudoscience.
