Purchased a new Battery 6 months ago - now it's dead Again! Help?!

Mine was sealed from the factory as was the replacement. No acid has to be added nor can it be added to a truly sealed battery. There is no way to add anything because it is sealed tight at the factory. There are many copies out there that are worthless. if you try to cheap it out you may not be getting the real McCoy. I believe I paid about $120 for my replacement and it is great. I never use the Battery Tender but try to run it at least once every two weeks.
OEM lasted five years even in this Southern AZ heat. Normal battery life here is 2=3 years.

The battery with acid supplied separately is AGM. You seal it tight after adding the acid so it becomes a sealed AGM.

I don't think so but I'm keeping an open mind.

That's interesting. In the description it says the battery is supplied dry with a separate acid bottle.

The battery was charged per the instructions provided by the manufacturer before installation.

Did the Interstate shop do something differently than what you had done to charge it initially? It's supposed to be slow charged over 10 hours from what I understand.

Whenever I've purchased a battery from BatteryStuff, it has come filled and charged. Maybe that's what accounts for the differences in price and outcomes between apparently identical Yuasa batteries?

The Interstate guy said it was the new chargers that would not charge if the battery was below a certain level. All they did was hook up a set of jumper cables to a good battery and charge both at the same time. He also said the initial charge didn't make that much difference in battery life.

The YTX24HL is factory activated and the YTX24HL-BS comes with a bottle supply of acid and has to be activated by the dealer or user. If you take a look at the specs for both batteries, they are identical.

If the battery lays at an angle inside your Spyder, we recommend going with a factory activated battery. If it sits upright, you can go with either one.
