My friend and I hooked up to BUDS2 today and saw that the suspension sensor sends a voltage signal between 0 and 5v to the cluster to adjust the suspension. After resetting my suspension using the block method in the service manual, the suspension has a HIGH setting and a Low setting with a corresponding voltage. If the voltage signal can be intercepted and increased or decreased, it will fool the ECM and add or release air because it thinks the swingarm is too high/low. Seems simple to me.

On a side note, my rear suspension was hard, clunking, and seemed to be over-extending the rear shock. After the reset procedure, the rear suspension is perfect! Lower airbag pressure. No clunking. More comfortable ride. No bottoming out with the lower pressure.
