Default ram mount ball for tri axis bars

Does any know If I can put a ram mount ball on the existing tri axis bolt or will I need to get a longer one. If so, where??? I understand that it is a specialty bolt. I have seen some clam on ram mounts but they are between $100 and $150. Thanks for the information.

Under the upper rubber plug is a M6 threaded hole. RAM makes an M6 ball, but I think the thread is too short. I used their female M6 threaded ball and put a 2" M6 threaded stud in and it left about 1" exposed for use. Made a fine GPS mount, plenty of strength.

I did the same thing with an M6 stud through a RAM ball and it was $11 vs. the more expensive options. Been holding on for the last several thousand miles without coming loose.

I used a RAM angle ball and a M6 bolt with lock and rubber washer.

What are those bolt head covers you're using? I've been wanting to cover the bolt heads but haven't come up with anything.

I got a set of 5 IPS bolt covers from Lamonster Garage. I used 2 of them for this. I have 3 that I'm still trying to figure out how to use.

This doesn't mount to the handlebars. It mounts to the top of the dash and makes using the added device unreachable. I have both and mount a CB in the center of the bars as it's a better place than on top of the dash.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, my GPS is located in that spot and I was looking to run a ball off one of the side bolts
