When you say you need new brakes, exactly what do you need?

Bring it up to Portland, I'll do it for ya and no labor charge. My wrenches are calling me to be used more.
Who is it in GP or Medford that quoted you that gawd awful price? And do you need rotors in addition to pads? If so, then that's not too bad a price. You must be using your brake pedal as a foot rest.

They are in Medford. Need everything Pads, Rotors etc... Not sure why I didn't get very many miles out of them? I've had to get on them hard a few times, but other than that? The quote was $300+ for labor $600+ for parts. I have a scraping sound coming from the brakes, but they work fine.

That scraping sound can be metal to metal. Not a good thing at all. That's why you need rotors, if that diagnosis is correct.
If that's a $100/hour shop, 3 hours is about right. Someone with that experience can do it in less time. Could be a flat rate.
Watch when they do it and request the used parts.

Did they give you a reason that you needed 3 new rotors? I'm thinking 1, maybe. But 3??? Seems a bit out there.

Can you post pictures of your rotors?

EBC rotors are quite a bit less expensive and of much higher quality. If you really do need rotors, I'd go that direction.

If you have a bad front rotor, you should replace them both along with both front pads. BTW you wont believe how much of an improvement the EBC pads and rotors are over stock.

If you have 1 bad front rotor, you can replace just that 1 with an OEM rotor. But you DO NOT want to replace just 1 front rotor with an EBC rotor because the EBC rotors stop better and you don't want unequal stopping power on the same axle. Since you can get 2 EBC rotors for just about the same price as 1 OEM rotor. And the EBC rotors are so much better. It makes sense to replace both fronts with EBC rotors, even if you only need 1.

You can replace just the front rotors with EBC rotors without changing out the rear. I have a good number of customers who have done this and are very happy.

You can also put an EBC rotor on the rear without changing out the fronts, though I've not had a customer do this.
