Default What is this SAE connector for?

    Hello!

I found this SAE connector, does anyone know what it is for?

Accessories plug (I hope so!) or battery charging?

Likely battery tender plug. Also useful for heated gear if you get adapter.

You might check it with a multi-meter, but it's likely, as woods and trikermuthr said, a direct connection to your battery. So it's both yes to your original question.

    Default Well....

not looking like any heated gear plugs I have been around but could be. I would think it is more likely a battery connection. If you can get to your battery you will see the connection there...

Does your USB adapter have the same type of plug? As the picture indicates it maybe a 12 VDC source direct from the battery.

As DGoebel stated a volt meter would help to see if that plug still has power to it.

But most just use it for a battery tender hookup point.

Deltran (Battery Tender) makes an adapter that has a USB port and connects directly to the SAE plug.

I tested with a multi-meter, it's a direct connection to the battery. I guess I can use it for my USB connector (it has a SAE connector on the other side) but it looks like the polarity is reversed!? I don't want to damage my cell... I should probably follow the wires to the battery and see how they are connected.

It looks like an addon to my Spyder but I'm surprised since previous owner did not make any modification...!
