I think HD has seen the writing on the wall as their current customer base is aging and the younger folks neither want or can afford many models in their lineup. Electric vehicles are here to stay and many folks are also wanting smaller bikes to enjoy. HD is offering both and I see it as a smart move.

Yes, and that's the bummer. I don't see battery powered electric vehicles being a serious challenge for some time, if ever. There are some good attempts but, imho, alternative electricity generation will be required to make them convenient long distance machines. However, around town to reduce local pollution, yes, certainly.
