Calsci Windshield Users ?
Curious if anyone is running a Calsci shield on their F3/F3S machine? I'm considering their 18" (shorty) dark tint, but it appears Calsci takes measurements of their shield lengths versus shield heights. Many mfrs measure their shield height in a vertical line up from the fuel cap > tip of the shield. In this measurement, I'm wondering how tall the 18" model is? Heck, if you have a 22"/24", I can at least get a ballpark idea. Thx for any info..

I have the CalSci tinted shorty, but on my RT
Top to bottom measures 18 1/2"
Width at top is 18"
Its widest measurement is 25", which is 13" from the top. Hope this helps.

I tried CalSci and their shield cracked at all 4 screw holes. They did not seem to have a grommit to prevent that from happening.

What do you think of this windshield? Does it reduce or prevent backdraft on the cockpit area and people?

I still have the shield with the cracked holes and it was not a very good shield anyway. Lots of bad air and head buffeting. They did give me a full refund though.

It does, and does it very well for us both. I've used CalSci on 2 other bikes (FJR1300 and Suzuki Bandit 1200S) and they both performed the same.
This has become our "all year" windshield -- winter, summer, etc.
Other rider's results do vary.
Never had one crack on me at the bolt holes though.

I had a CalSci windshield on my STL and liked it but not before the first one cracked at the screw holes, they sent me a replacement. That is why I tried them first on my F3L

I'm also going to contact Madstad about a 14" or 16". On the Slingmods video, the 18" extends quite high. I still want some sporty aesthetics, so somewhere down the line I might buy a second, taller screen for trips. Decisions.. decisions.

The big issue for me is backdraft. Calsci is the only one that claims to eliminate this so I'm interested to hear from those who have used them whether it does make a significant difference. Calsci does have specific instructions for determining the correct size.

I had a CalSci on my 2008 GS. It was great. When I bought the F3 I thought I would go see them again. Bought one of their shields but was disappointed with the look and the ride. Took it back the next day and got the Blue Ridge Can Am shield. Love the look and no buffeting.

Likely going to order a Madstad this weekend. A 14" dark gray for everyday and a 20" light gray for trips.
