    Default RT Change headlamp bulbs

Don't know if its the same on the US model as the european model, I have a 2014 RT, the headlamps are adjusted by turning a knob under the front lower side panel. If you want to remove the headlight you must undo the nut securing the headlamp adjuster so you can pull it through the bodywork to get the headlamp unit out far enough to change the bulb.
So you start to undo the nut and the whole brass ferrule that is held by a nut shape in a plastic holder mullers the plastic holder now the whole thing turns and the nut won't come off with no way of holding the ferrule without dismantling half the bike
I didn't dismantle any more I got my multitool and cut a hole in the front of the bracket so I could get a spanner on the top nut shape of the ferrule. What moron designed this, why put a nut on the ferule when a wire circlip would have done aswell.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Never had a problem with that, the nut is usually just hand tight and comes off easily. Sometimes getting it back through the hole can be tricky. Worst thing I find is that the nut is frequently oily. I’ve probably changed 100 RT headlights.

I also found that on the frame that fits around the headlights, if you leave the bottom back screws out, (why it needs so many screws in the first place is beyond me), you dont need to take the top side panels off just to change a headlamp bulb, only thing is you must tie a piece of string round the adjuster cables so you can rull them back through the holes. really worked for me.

You should still be able to reach in there to hold the other end of that cable where the nut is mounted. If you can get it in the hole you should be able to hold it while turning the nut.
