    Default Anti Freeze Alternative?

Anyone know of an alternate Anti Freeze Versus the BRP brand to use?

This would be for a 2014 Spyder RT.

I'd like to know also. I'm sure BRP doesn't make antifreeze and just has it put into a BRP container. I would think any antifreeze rated for a modern motor will work.

I did find something from Amsoil. But I had to go to the 2018 Models. The Amsoil is one of those that an be compatible all types of Anti freeze.

There is a Antifreeze alternative out there that is compatible with all types of Anti freeze.

I know I used a Prestone on my car that was compatible with all types of anti freeze.

    Have to do more research.

Have you tried a search of "coolants" as that the most common term. Many, many threads on requirements and ones to use

    Default Little checking.....

There are a lot of coolant for motorcycles out there. I know BRP changed to a pink version but don't know why. You basically need the lubricant and glycol with water and be aluminum safe. Water is still the best and due to our weather and ryding here I run a 75% water 25% antifreeze mix. You could get the specs on the new stuff and see if the other coolant meet them...

I use good old Prestone in everything. It is non-silicate so it will not harm aluminium.

ethylene glycol antifreeze for Aluminum engines can be used.

Amsoil looks like a good alternate

The color of coolant means nothing any more. There was a time when that was a good indicator of the type of coolant you had but that is no longer true.

Peak 50/50 in the blue jug. 12 bucks at NAPA. MSDS IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS BRP’S coolant. Same stuff, 1/2 the price.

Chupaca a 50/50 mix is what you should be using. Anti freeze does more than prevent freeze up. It lubricates and prevents corrosion and a 50/50 mix with distilled water is the minimum mix and best.
For me since I don't find the need to change anti freeze every year I stick with what the manufacturer recommends. It doesn't pay to mess with cheaper stuff for a few dollars saved. I would rather have the piece of mind knowing I used the right stuff. Yes I know BRP doesn't make anti freeze but they probably have theirs made to their own specs by an outside manufacturer.

ethylene glycol antifreeze for Aluminum engines can be used. Does not have to be BRP as most likely it was source from another vendor and then slapped a BRP label on it and ask for double the price.

I just picked up 1 litre of pink anti freeze for my 2016. Parts guy told me green in 2013 twins is a 5 year change out. Pink in 2014 and newer has a 10 year change out.
Only needed a cup full to top it up but was scared to add wrong stuff.

Think it 5 years or 150K for the pink, Green is 2 years..

If it meets other requirements I'd suggest looking for PROPYLENE GLYCOL coolant. It is non-toxic, whereas ethylene glycol is poisonous and tends to kill things.

If you take off the Tupperware below the headlights the Radiator cap is easily accessed. But I agree about that engineering.
