Foam Grips
Anyone using the foam grips, do they retain water in the rain?

Yes and yes. But they dry out pretty quickly. I put plastic bags over them if I am parking for an overnight at a hotel. Keeps the dew off as well.

It's inconsequential. Regular grips get wet in the rain; both dry out, one faster than the other.
Artillery lends dignity to what would
otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

The best ones are the ones from Spyderpops.

Buy the foam grips from Spyderpops or Lamonster for the Spyder. I bought a couple pair of foam grips for my Triumph Trophy and they don't fit the Spyder.

I have Grip Puppies on my F3 and can't say that I notice any water saturation after going to the car wash - it doesn't rain much out here in the Nevada desert and I don't ride in it anymore even if it does. They were a PITA to install over my F3's grips but a big improvement.

Mine seem to dry out pretty quick. I have been caught in the rain a few times and they do fine. Wouldn't want to ride with out them.

There's got to be a way to replace the OEM grips. Are the bars an odd size?

I use the grip puppies on my Vmax, and they worked great for taking out the vibration and just feel good. But I was afraid to put them on my F3T due to them having the heated grips. The grips on the F3T barely get warm enough allready when compared to the ones on my RT. I didn't want anything to take away from that in the winter. Besides, I hold the bars a lot looser on the spyder, so the grips are not as much of an issue.

Most people put them on with dish soap and a lot of pushing. Use an air hose with a blast nozzle and they go on in less than 10 seconds.

I have been using foam grips for a long time. They don't stay wet very long and your gloves aren't going to get water logged. As far as a heated grip, they make no difference in the effectiveness of the heater.

Grip puppies for me.
They are not what would be generally classified as foam.
Perform as in weather not different then any standard rubber grip.
Mine are now 4 years old and no problems here, although they are beginning to crack from the intense heat.

An air hose is what I used... but it was my wimpy home compressor. Had I been able to use one of my work compressors it would have been simple, just like putting the foam on an AR pistol tube, which takes about that same 10 seconds.
