Cactoctin Mountains/Gettysburg Battle field Run
I am enlisting Spyder Ryders to do a Catoctin Mountains/Gettysburg Battlefield run on Saturday, 15 August; Rain date: Sunday, 16 August.
The run will begin with breakfast at the Cozy Restaurant in Thurmont MD. Then proceed up Route 15 to Mount St Mary's University for a blessing of the Spyders at Mother Seton Shrine. From there we will come back to Thurmont and begin the Catoctin Mountains portion ending back in Emmitsburg MD. From there, we will proceed north to Gettysburg and stop for lunch at General Pickett's Buffet before proceeding into the battlefield itself. At that point the run officially and and the battlefield tour will be "free flow" since everyone will have different interests.

So far, the response has been UNDERwhelming. I'm hoping that, as we get closer to the date, more will jump in.

Been there did that
I just got back from Bike week in Gettysburg. I'm a member of the Red Knights and did a simular ride to the National Fallen Firefighter memorial. The run is beautiful and full of curves. I would post this on the PA and MD sites. I met a couple SPYDER riders from MD and PA who would love to do the run (they live on the MD/PA border. I'll have to check and see if I can get off work and join you all.

NP...I must have misunderstood your post. Thought three meant a friend was coming on another bike

I have a similar problem. Put mine in the shop at a new dealer to fix the butcher job my old dealer did on my cruise control and HID lights. They've had it since the 21st but am told I'll get it back on Saturday. So I should still be a go for the ride on the 15th
Bandwagon and Twin Peaks...you still a go?

I hope everyone enjoyed today as much as I did. It was GREAT meeting everyone and putting faces to names. We'll have to do another run sometime. That covered bridge run looks cool!

Thanks
Hi all,
I enjoyed meeting you all and the ride was great!
Next time I hope that my wife, Brandy can make it. This weekend we are considering cruising to Luray Caverns and running down skyline drive.
Anyone interested?
I will post the pics on FACEBOOK in a few days --- I can be found as STEVEN SCHANTZ on facebook

Shenandoah
Brandy and I rode through the Shenandoah Mts about a week ago on Skyline drive. It was no nice -- but still so green. We are looking at going back in a few weeks when the leaves change. My Corbin rear helmet box will be here soon as well as my grip puppies. Still waiting to get the throttlemeister and corbin saddle bags.
Hope to see you all again in the near future. Cant make the covered bridge run in Oct -- Have a prior engagement. I know it sucks.
Take care all and be safe
