Default 2019 RT LTD, issue shifting from N to 1

My husband finally joined the club, drove to Ohio from NJ to buy a new 2018 RT LTD. Yesterday was our first time out. First two stops, no problem. Second two stops, when he'd shift from N to 1, the rpms went all crazy, gears went back down to N, then the N 'disappeared". Anyone have this issue before?

    TIA for any help!

When you say stop do you mean full stop as in shutting of the Spyder?

Yes, turning off, then back on a short time later.

    Default Bummer..

There have been some issues with the paddle shifter here lately. You could check with the vin# and see if you fall in that group. Seems there are some that had to replace the whole command unit left side.

So, the VIN number wasn't listed on the CanAm site, but I was able to retrieve the code, P072A, which has to do with the interlock being stuck in the transmission. Put the bike in reverse, then back into N, and it seems to be functioning properly now. We will def get it checked out, though!! Thanks for your suggestions!
