    Default All Those Letters!

Can anyone point me to a thread or post which lists all the various models of Spyders (RT, RTS, GS, F3, etc.) with mini-descriptions of what they are like and when they were made? All the codes are nearly as confusing as Army lingo: PCS, FTX, DEROS, TPFDL, etc.

It would be nice to have a listing something like:

"Model FX, 2009-2013, sporty, not really a two-up machine, frunk only, no bags."

The best place would be www.can-am.brp.com. I think they have a comparison tool.

    Default Have not seen one....

The GS was the original model which became the RS with no differnce. The RSS was a sporty model with some small differnces not really worth the money. Then came the RT followed by the ST a mix of the RT and the RS. The other letters like SE5, SM5 is for the manual trans and the semi-auto trans. These were all the 998cc V-twin engines. Along the way in 2014 they came out with the 1330cc engine in the RT and the trans letters changed to SE6 and SM6 as they added a sixth gear. Then came the F3 and they dropped the RS,RSS and the ST. The other letters like S.T LTD are for the standard touring and limited with the differences of bags, radios, gps etc and of course the price differnce. The basic roadster was the same as to engine frame etc. All the exact differences I do not know. They were and are modifiable and you can add what you want to get to where you want to be....
