If they can do it for Trasformers they could do it for us
Man I wish they would put a fun switch on our Spyder.

Stunts? They did stunts in the movie?

I think this is the thing that most people I talk to about the Spyder are bothered by the most. They want to burn rubber or push it until they lift a wheel. They are disappointed when I tell them that the nanny will kick in and prevent them from doing those things.
A switch would be good. Because then, those like me who want the VSS on could have it their way, and those that don't want the VSS on could have their cake too. The VSS is the main reason I looked at the Spyder and didn't bother with either a sidecar rig or a traditional trike conversion.
Too bad we can't all be happy all the time.

I'm sure BRP see's this as a "sue me" switch but if you had a disclaimer that it was only for approved "race track" or "stunt" use and if there was a issue and the Spyder was found to be in the "stunt" mode at the time of the accident BRP could not be held responsible. Maybe even make it so it could only be enabled through the BUDS and when it was you signed a waver to release BRP and the dealership of any responsibility. At that time if there was a accident and the "stunt" switch was turned off the product liability would be the same as a standard Spyder.
I'm sure this will never happen in this sue happy world but it's fun to dream about it.

There is way to much liability with a switch like that. I would like it, but it's not going to happen.
Even if they have us sign waivers, there could be some many risks involved.

I think this would have to be a switch that we would have to devise. It would be very foolish for BRP to give us any assistance with such a switch.

I don't think having a VSS off switch would be that controversial.
My last three cars all have had a off switch to disable stability control. I learned my lesson with the RX-8 and the rain, it should be left on

I missed the stunts also. Maybe when they backed down the ramp of a moving truck and hit the pavement and then sped off would have upset the VSS? I have a feeling that a lot of Spyder footage was left on the cutting room floor.

Legal papers, contracts and whatnot still don't hold water for an ambitious attorney, a self serving judge or a sympathetic jury. A 12 inch stack of signed waivers, disclaimers and other legalese can be wiped away in an instant by any two of the three mentioned groups.

There has been a few red faced moments for me when I simply try and take off from the side of the road and the motor starts to "sputter and fart" thanks to good old "Nanny". It would be soooo nice to be able to take off with just a little wheel spin and a small fish tail. I think they have gone overboard with the sensitivity. Fast corners and getting wheels off the ground is one thing, but a little fishy as you leave the car park.
Now that just plane fun

I would love to ride the one that Ken @ Evoluzione has--- all the VSS stuff is disabled.
Does anyone know if the VSS still works when you have the clutch pulled in?

I took a fast turn the other day one of the wheels did come off the ground! The Spyder can't control me!
