I live just off of US 281 about a dozen miles north of Pharr (where my Can Am Dealer is located!).

Do the Legion riders always cruise in the wrong lane?

Oh Wait! On second glance, I see that they're passing a shipment of air guitars!

In Colorado, driving in the left lane (except to pass) is against the law... it seems that both cars and bikes are mixed in the left or passing lane.

But I see the ride is routed thru KS on 281 south to north, so nevermind.

It's a bit hard to see, but if you enlarge the pic enough it looks like the driver of the first car is seated in the RH seat!! So either it's a pic taken in Aust or the UK or some other place where we drive in the left lane; or during the editing/publishing process, someone flipped the image so now we are effectively looking a mirror image, in which case, once flipped back all is OK!

The 'flipped' or mirror image thing happens waaaay more often than you'd expect, even some very expensive car adverts & vids have been released with vehicles driving on the wrong side of the road &/or the driver sitting in the wrong seat; much of the time you'll only notice if you can see some reversed/mirror image text, saay, on the dash or the licence plate, etc. Seeing the pedals placed in the wrong position or back of road signs on the wrong side of the road can be other give-aways, & altho there's not a heap to go on in this particular 'reversed image', I'm still pretty sure that it'll be another case of a flipped image here too!

Good thought, however........ The yellow line is to the left of the drivers which signifies that the traffic on the other side of is it going the opposite direction. The white shoulder line separates traffic lines going in the same direction. If the photo was flipped the lines would be the other way also.

A flipped image like Peter says was my first thought, too. But the yellow line is what made me dismiss that idea.

    Of course not, but...

Same in Texas, where 281 is 4-lane divided highway in many places, as shown in the picture.

With a little bit more analytical logic (brag, brag!) I think I can explain why they're in the passing lane...

Look at the name of the photograph itself: AMLegionCentenialRidePromo.jpg

Promo, see! Where was the photographer? On an overpass, obviously. Why? Because the whole beautiful scene was planned in advance, obviously.

So, looking at the picture, the passing lane is closest to the camera... the riders were instructed in advance to approach that overpass in that lane, so as to be prominent in the picture, instead of any other traffic that might be passing them!

    Make sense?
