Check engine message
I have a 2008gs and when I turn on the key check engine message appears when I start it the message is still there if I turn it off and restart the message goes away the only code I can find is p0205 oil pressure switch couthat be the problem

I have ordered an oil pressure switch hope that will fix it can’t afford the dealer at this time. My wife would hurt me lol

2008 same thing here happened. However the code you posted doesn't make sense - comes up "Cylinder 5" malfunction!!
The new oil pressure switch fixed it. The oil light would not go out when started. Engine was running smooth so I knew it was a false reading and not real. If this matches what you see the oil unit will fix it. Actually it was a VERY common issue for the 2008!
Pro tip! The old sensor and new sensor have different socket sizes. I had to go buy one. Don't remember the size though!

cheapcycleparts.com has them lot cheaper than dealer. Never buy at dealer, 100% ++ markups. can am 420256912 (google it) many places have it! $15 or so cheap fix!

The oil pressure light never came on just check engine at start up I replaced the oil pressure switch and that fixed it now all I have to do is replace the gear position sensor and I will be ready to ride again
