    Default Shock install

Trying to install new shocks on 2015 RT. Dose the frunk have to come off to install, I can't see how to get the upper bolt out.

Nothing has to come off. Not even panels. It takes some time, finesse, jacking/lowering, open-end, and box wrenches to get to that upper bolt. And small hands help a lot. (Like my wife's') I have done it 3 times now and it does get easier after figuring out how to do it. BTW when putting it back together, put the top bolt in opposite from the way it was originally installed. Having the nut up front makes it a lot easier to R/R in the future and your shock will never know which way the bolt is installed. If you do a search on this forum there is a very good thread detailing the process. May take a while to find it but worthwhile. One last thought. After you get all the bolts out you will need to raise the bike on a jack to get the shock out of the spring. Good luck..... Jim

Its tight that's for sure. I used a 15mm offset wrench and a 15mm socket on a ratchet. Take the weight off the front end with a jack remove the hardware.

The frunk can come off if you want too but you dont have too.

Identify what you have control over and find peace with what you don't.
