    Default Rear trunk lift support

I have a rack on top of the lid and now, will not stay up. I have to prop it up. Do you think that it is just too much weight for the lift support, or that the support has lost some of it's ability?

I took the compression spring off and went to the hardware store and got 2 stiff springs that fit over the shock. Unscrew the clevice off the rod to get the spring on. It took 2 springs to get the length I needed. It works great and only 2 or 3 dollars.

I just added another shock to the other side of the lid, works perfect!

Just found a paint stick, cut it to length, wife painted it white, does a great job for as often as I go into the rear trunk. Total cost (not counting the stick...have no idea what that cost if anything), about $.02 for the paint.
