Commonalities?
So I'm a brand-new Spyder owner (2016 F3-T), and I see that this site seems to be the busiest and most informative for the Can-Am Roadster.
I also see that the forums on the site are largely divided by subtype: RT, F3, ST, Ryker, etc. Obviously I will pay close attention to the General Discussion and the F3 forums, but here is my question: are there sufficient commonalities among the models to make it profitable for an F3 owner to routinely browse the non-F3 forums? Or would that just be confusing to a newbie?

Customer Support
First welcome to the family and this is by far and away the best place to be as a Spyder owner.
Second even though forums are broken down by type I generally hit the what’s new button each time I visit and look into any topic that looks intriguing regardless of bike type. Where else can you go and learn about different rydes and find a nugget that may be useful to you regardless of forum and get advice about the Zombie Apocalypse!

I hit almost every "new" post, regardless of the category it is posted in. Okay maybe not every OIL post,
and certainly not every TIRE post, but most everything else is pretty entertaining and educational.
I love these guys, really.

There are a lot of common issues. Like others have said, I check the "what's new" category and read what looks good. There's a lot to be learned from others who don't necessarily ride the same bike. Welcome..... Jim

Welcome! Read you operator's guide very thoroughly -- a couple of times -- particularly the part about how to check your oil level and follow it to the letter.

otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

Commonalities can include drivetrain, electronics, wheels and tires. There are also differences within them between models and years. I think it's probably personal preference, but I tend to avoid the non-RT model-specific threads and Ryker threads.

Look around all you want, and you'll find that the similarities FAR outweigh the differences!
By the way: where in Upstate New York are you?
(I'm in the Catskill Mtn. region...)
Tannersville (town of Hunter). And you?

I think there is enough info out there on model-specific threads you could focus on your model for now.
