Default 2011 RT SM5 will not start in gear

My 2011 RT SM 5 will no longer start while in gear with the clutch lever pulled. It will start in neutral with lever pulled or not. I suspect the problem is the smallmicro switch located on the bottom of the clutch lever but have not done any testing to verify. Anyone else had this problem and if so what was the fix?

If you have a ohm meter, that switch will just be a normal open/close switch. Check the actuator, it could be bent and not pushing the plunger in making contact. Bruce

OK, here is what was happening. Some time ago I had installed some foam grips. Over time the grips had hardened enough to prevent the clutch lever from activating the small micro switch. The switch is activated by a small pin on the clutch lever. By placing a small piece of plastic tube over the pin thus increasing it's diameter I was able to get the switch to activate. Hope this helps someone in the future but apparently I am the only person to ever have this problem.
