It won't fit the very early GS models. The shock shaft length was changed during the 2009 model year I believe.
I bought one from an RS and it was too long for my 2008 GS. Cost me $400CAD to have Elka rebuild it.
Very happy with the result. A huge improvement over the OEM one.
