    Default Halogen vs. LED Lighting?

    Does anyone know why the Spyder still uses the power hungry, hot running Halogen lights instead of LEDs? I have replaced mine with LEDs but it seems BRP is still holding on to an obsolete technology....

    Just wondering.

    Price. This is an area where the bean counters win out. Sad.
    Ours is a red, black and chrome 2017 F3 Limited. Bought new in 2/2019. The avatar is my first bike back in 1952, a Simplex Servi-Cycle. Photo taken at the Barber Museum.

    I think the reason may be …. If the Spyder used LED headlights they would have to certified by D.O.T. , and this could be an expensive undertaking.....Mike
