Smile Picking up 19' RTL tomorrow question help...

    Hi all,
I got the call from dealer today that my 19 RTL will be ready tomorrow for pickup after build out. I wanted to get any suggestions about questions to ask dealer or things to go over that are sometimes missed in this process. They indicated I would see different departments, i.e. service, etc. and they will go over everything I just want to check all boxes thanks.

Make sure the Dash version is 20.8. Make sure your smartphone has BRP Connect. You'll want weither Genius Maps or Sygic for GPS. The music will be from the music app on the phone or FM radio. Never is a GPS/tracking app that is helpful. FOBO is an easy way to keep track of tire pressure.

    Congratulations.

Make sure they have the drive belt tension lowered to the new specs. Too many dealers are still delivering Spyders with the old tension of over 200#s..... Welcome..... Jim

Ask if they have laser aligned the front end. If not, it will be worth the money to have it done correctly.

Yes but......doing the alignment to the BRP supplied spec's is worthless.

When you get home, charge the battery to 100% and it will last longer. Dealers seldom charge batteries on new scoots. Insure correct air pressure in tires.....the same pressure in both front tires and 28-30 in the rear tire.

I traded my 2014 RT for a 2017 Mr. White RT-S. I am George Lewis. I live two miles from Boerne, TX. I am 89, retired USAF and Sony Corp. I also have a GW MotorTrike. My email: scoot62@aol.com

I bought a floor-model 2018 RTL - Dealer was very kind and had service put a fresh battery in before I drove it home.

Just because it is "fresh" doesn't necessarily mean that it is fully charged.
Still a good idea to make sure.

And if you don't have a battery tender, NOW is a good time to get one.

A small fully automatic "tender" type charger.
Available for around $30 at bike shops, auto parts stores and even WalMart.
Many dealers install a pigtail in the Frunk for connecting to one.

Check for that pigtail before you buy a charger.

A battery tender (maintainer) will work fine.

A rule of thumb for motorcycle batteries is no more than 2 ampere charge rate - something to note if you ever have to use an automotive-type charger. More than this risks damage to the new battery.

Do yourself an absolutely huge favor, RTFM, at least twice. Pay particular attention to the section on checking the oil, pages 108-110.

    otherwise be a vulgar brawl.
