Default Purchasing 2019 RT Limited Question

I want to start with thanks to this forum and its moderators and contributors for all the knowledge for me to make my decision to get involved with a Spyder. I just recently agreed on price for a 2019 RT Limited and they are building it now should pick up next week. I know already I will want to dress her up a bit so with what I see are the many options I'm trying to organize what project to attack first. I want better lighting hence led headlights and the bumpskud kit looks great. I wanted to know if the 2019 has any leds stock( the dealer didnt seem sure and the 19' I took out I couldn't really tell).Much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Sumetrap. I hope you enjoy it. on the new Spyder RTL. Make sure and post a photo in the Spyder Garage here on the forum when you get it home. Before you add things I would just ride for a bit and see what you would like first and shop for addons. Many different bump skids. cup holders, phone holders etc. we have lots of very good sponsors on the home page look around their shop, but enjoy the ride first. Live to Ride, Ride to Live

Welcome to the group. Ride, ride, ride. I would recommend a Baja Ron sway bar. After that, see what is out there. But ride for awhile before anything else. Get use to it.

I agree that you should ride awhile before creating your wallet flattening farkle list, a.k.a. WFFL pronounced waffle, but IMO your RTL, by virtue of its design, i.e., low ground clearance and large radiator intakes, calls for two "s**t happens" protectors. You're right on with the bump skid to protect the underside of the frunk and, equally important, are Spyderpops KOTTS grilles to keep the flying critters out of the radiators.

We purchased a used 2014 last year and it was a stock bike w.a drink to go holder. So far after 3000 miles only added highway pegs to stretch legs. Save yourself a bundle and ride a while and prioritize your must haves based on your personal needs. You can spend a lot of $$$$ with add ons quickly. Heck I purchased a drivers backrest almost a year ago and for some reason it isn’t installed yet.

I think after hearing from you all I will seal up the wallet and enjoy but take notes. I think I already have a small list anyways just from the forums suggestions.

Yep, BRP did us know favors with the bump skid they gave us. That is one of the first things I did. Then if you plan to do your own maint., I would suggest majic mirrors. I hated fighting with those clips!. There are lots of other things that you will find that that you need/want.... Welcome to the Group!

I suggest having the dealer install the Garmin GPS unit and wiring harness $900 frigging dollars just for the harness, and have it wrapped into the financing. The rest of the farkles can wait until later. Learning to handle the Spyder takes a few hundred miles.
On curves and twisties keep your feet wide out on the floorboards and your knees tight to the glove box so that your body is stiff and that you're not needing your arms to hang on but use them to steer your new Mistress. You're going to ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER.

I think I'm going to hold on that but thanks for suggestion. The BRP Intergrated system will get a trial period along with my phone. I'm curious about all the problems I've been reading whether I can make it work for me. Well see...
