I would suggest you add the 2UP rear spring and max out the preload on the rear spring. You won't be able to have a passenger over 90 pounds, but the 2UP spring will help with your size to keep from bottoming out on the fender when hitting bumps. I'm small (130lbs) and I was surprised how much it sunk with a 100lb passenger (total 230lbs).

Let me first say that I have not ridden or even sat on a ryker yet...
But I do have some doubts that the ryker is the right ryde for you. From what I have read the ryker is a fun around town and on back roads machine, and while it will do highway miles just fine its probably not nearly as competent or comfortable as a spyder is at that particular job. Since you are commuting 70 miles I would search for a used spyder instead.

Ride them. All of them, then decide. There are incredible deals on left overs. Factor in a windshield, bags, a saddle (Ryker saddles are not for big guys) and decide. The Ryker is best suited for in town. Some people have toured on one, but I think you will appreciate the 1330 engine. Happy hunting! Joe

Listen very thoughtfully to Joe Meyer.
Artillery lends dignity to what would
otherwise be a vulgar brawl.
