Read pg 123 & 124. I am not changing or checking the oil. Do I add a small amount of oil into the dipstick? A straightforward answer would be greatly appreciated

If you are not "changing oil or checking oil". Why are you adding oil? How do you know it needs oil. You add oil in the exact same place you would put if changing oil. In the oil tank.

If you have not rode the bike for 10 miles and then let it idle for 10 minutes before shutting it down and checking the oil, you might not need oil.

But straight after you do, use a narrow spout funnel in the dipstick tube and add a little oil if needed.IMG_0883[1].jpg M in MAX is plenty.

Note in the picture on pg 123 that Item 1 is the dipstick and Item 2 is the OIL FILLER TUBE (emphasis added).

Note below the first picture on pg 124 the words "Oil level between Lower (MIN) and
    Upper (MAX) Marks:

    1. Do not add oil.
    2. Properly insert and tighten dipstick.
    3. Close the seat."

    otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

Please be sure to check your oil per the instructions in the manual, if you don’t you will likely be overfilling it. It is not common for the 1330 motor to consume oil

Yes. The oil goes into the "dipstick hole".

But.....you should never "add a small amount" without first properly checking the level.

………. So far after 9 oil changes and 45,000 mi. … I have never had to ADD oil.... this engine doesn't appear to burn any or lose any through the breather system ….. BUT, when I check it ...it is done AFTER I go for a normal ride ( 1/2 hr. or more ) ……….. that way it is ALWAYS at the proper Temp. and I don't waste a lot of time ……………….Mike
