Make sure your brake fluid reservoir is full.

    +1 on checking the fluid.

The parking brake is electrically operated......so there is no way to "make sure it is fully down".

Also be sure you aren't "riding the brake" by accident.

The 'parking brake' is cable operated, but it is my understanding it has nothing to do with the brakes, it just locks the transmission up.

Does the Ryker have the same parking brake set up as the Spyder where the cable applies the rear brake? Inquiring minds want to know

No. After you stop and apply the 'parking brake', you can get off and by hand roll the bike back and forth a few inches and then you can hear and feel it locking the transmission up.

    Default Much like.....

Much like the fuel level can vary with the angle of the ryde.... you know up hill down hill.... the brake fluid can do the same if a bit low. Agree with BajaRon on checking the level nonetheless....

What do you mean by "fully down" ?
It is a combination of an electric solenoid (motor) and a cable.

There is a new service bulletin pertaining the the Master Cylinder Diaphragm needs replaced. My dealership told me about it yesterday and ordered the parts. I haven't had any problems myself, but the dealership is being proactive.

No, it's not on the Ryker; and this is in the Ryker section.

The Ryker's 'park brake' is operated by a lever - UP is ON, & when it's flipped fully DOWN, the park brake is OFF.

When the top of the lever is pulled out from its UP & ENGAGED position & rotated thru a 180° arc into its fully DOWN position, the park brake is set OFF. Failure to complete the entire 180° swing of the lever's swing can leave the lever only partially down & the park brake not yet fully disengaged, but if it's moved juuuust far enough, it'll let you ryde... for a while anyway! Hence, Nico's post & warning.

    Oops. Sorry.
In my defense, the "subscribed threads" scan does not show which section the posts are IN.
    (Yea, weak excuse......but it's all I've got.)

Catches me pretty much every time....

But before I submit a post, I double check where I am in the heirarchy of Forum sub-sections by looking at the Forum address line up the top left of the page. It's just above the vendor adverts but below the black menu line & the grey 'drop down lists' line; the line with the tiny little house/home button to the left/alongside it that usually starts with 'Forum' or 'Search' etc then has a little arrow or two, maybe three leading you thru the various subordinate forum sections/actions that brings you right down to whichever section/sub-forum you're actually in. Doing that 'double check' just before I hit 'submit' has (narrowly!) saved me from posting Spyder info into a Ryker thread more'n once!

So check that Forum line; to be sure, to be sure!

Ok additional info please for us without a Ryker, does it fuss (alarm beep)at you when you remove the dongle with Pbrake not on, or when you apply throttle when in gear & Pbrake is on? My Spyder does anyway, but also has a key not a dongle thx
