They fall into a small very inaccessible pocket under the seat. Two options, Remove the seat and get better access to the pocket or try a string with a magnet on the end and go fish. I misplaced a garage remote and couldn't find it then I washed the bike and road it around the block without a helmet and heard the rattle. Used a magnet and string with a small hook tool and fished it out. Fallen things don't fall through, at least not on the newer bikes.

They fall down on top of the plastic inner fender. After awhile they will fall out. The only way I know is to remove rear cargo module. This gives you access to the inner fender well. Bruce

Got lucky 1 time on ST when (trying to save time)I was going to prop my atm card on dash & slid between dash glass & benzel to top of engine, I had to disassemble some top components to access, in HOT parking lot. Other items lost to the darkness 2 bad headlights (one on each side) as my large hands fumbled when removing. So glad was not the new replacements, know the plate underneath catches stuff , just accessing is such a pain, & the follow up cleaning from seeing the unexposed areas that accumulate whatever. Now for any work around the "PIT" it is covered with rags tucked in to help prevent

Dropped the seat sleeves into the black hole. Had $30 borescope from General Tools and went looking in there and found it. Got a coat hanger and did some borescope fishing and got it out. Felt good about what I had done. Taped up the opening to prevent that from happening again.

LOL.. Me too.. I was installing my dash cam and I was using that for my parts bay too.
A very small nut used to mount the camera do my dashboard fell into the locking mechanism and prevented the cable from moving.
I couldnt open my seat to get gas until I used a very long screwdriver to jar that nut loose..

Last year I noticed how dirty the under seat plastic was. I cleaned it and stuffed soft foam in all the " black holes" . Much cleaner a year later. I set up a card table ( or use my table saw ) and plastic bags taped to the parts I remove. No more parts left over or lost.
