What are you using to keep your Ryker clean?

I live close to the ocean, salt is hard on everything. I got some w d 40 on the black plastic and like another person here it discolored the black plastic. I did some research online and I know use olive oil. I clean it good first. rub in a little olive oil. The black looks like new, the faded area took some time but is now normal. I use nu finish on the yellow and wheels. I know it works as I have used it for 20 years here on the coast. My pt cruiser which I sold, looks like new including the headlight plastic and red tail lights.

Can't use anything oily or that causes dust to stick on mine. I live on a limerock road and when it is dry the lime dust boils up like riding through talcum powder and gets all over the bike. I got a white truck and it still looks dusty all the time too.

Honda Spray Polish Cleaner

There are many products out there and I have tried many of them. Plastics are easy the metal parts are tougher to keep clean and rust free. If your by the coast try a marine shop for products for that invironment. I do prefer the spray on wipe off for the plastic part and they have all worked well. Currently using 303 and works well....

wash it and then apply 303 aerospace protectant. Makes the black really black and shiny with no greasy feeling.

I rinse her off ever so often but I don't actually 'wash' her. She gets dirty and muddy every single time I go out so I just don't go to a lot of trouble to scrub her and get her spotless. I keep my Spyder clean but the Ryker was bought for the sole purpose of riding dirt back roads. I have heat related health problems and by the time I get back from a 2 to 3 hour ride I'm lucky to feel like a quick rinse just to knock the big stuff off.

The problems with that include: it cannot be left outside (especially overnight) or you cannot go through any rain or even fog.

Dew & fog causes horrible looking streaks, rain completely removes it (rinses it right off), and leaving it outside in dry conditions make it a magnet for dust, dirt, & grass residue.

I'm going with the Honda cleaner/polisher like vstrommer recommended. I've used it on many bikes with great success. Yamaha has a similar cleaner/polisher.

I use Lamonster Black Dymond Matte Magic Detailer. It gets rid of the water spots I'm so use to here. I even use it to clean my cycle helmet shield and it works great.

Honestly, a damp towel cleans it right up. Haven't seen a need for anything else yet.
