Default Where can I get me DESS disabled near Connecticut ?

I'm looking for someone to disable my DESS.
With new technology that provides cloning of keys, it's not even a successful security measure.
Also, once the DESS is disabled, will subsequent BUDS updates re-enable it ?
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

I'm thinking if there was someone around here who could do that, and I'm sure there is, they are not about to post that information on a public forum. Also keep in mind, if you do disable it, any warranty you have will be rendered null and void.

Heh, it's not new technology. DESS is based on WWII technology...

Any dealer with a Mega Tech BUDS license can do it. If they want to.

Please stop with the fear mongering nonsense.

I will publicly state that I have no problem using legally licenced BUDS software to change an operation setting in the ECU that the owner has asked for. It does NOT void warranty any more than changing other selectable settings does. You must believe recalibration of the fuel level sensor would also void your warranty...utter nonsense.

You can legally buy the software and make the change yourself if you wish. As can your dealer. Most just choose not to spend the funds required. Our shop did and does to support our great customers.

No, mostly keep in mind that some of the advice you get in places like this will be absolutely WRONG.
    Like the above.

If you use a "toggle" that has been supplied by BRP in their design, it will "void" nothing.

NOW.....you had better not let your Insurance Company find out that you disabled it because your rate might go up.......or they might refuse to pay a claim for theft.
