Default Finally gave up on BRP Audio

After over 8 years of dealing with the OEM audio system, I gave up.
On my 2010, I had the OEM wired system with the CB.
The radio reception is poor, I got tired of drifting in and out of radio stationis, so I used my Ipod exclusively as a source of music, with a GPS and intercom also wired through headsets. There was some plug that allowed you to use the helmet mic through a cell phone, but it was lame and a waste of money. I could use the left hand buttons on the handlebar to control the music. Nevertheless, I always kept the ipod on "shuffle"
I went through all the growing pains with that system. Squeal in the CB. Wires wearing out the paint on my glove box. Etc, etc.
When I got my 2014, I upgraded to the Sena smh10 headsets and the BRP bluetooth dongle.
Still using the Ipod for music on "shuffle" but now using the bluetooth headsets with the occasional brief dropout of the music. No more wires. Still, an improvement.
All was well until I installed my first set of LED lights. Now, I'm getting a background hiss that I can't get rid of.
I had the infamous 5 second delay on the SMH10, whenever I switched from music to intercom. And often, the intercom failed to connect. If I wanted to point out a scene on the highway to my passenger, we'd be past it before the intercom connected.
So I upgraded to the SENA 20s. Nearly instant switch from the music to the intercom. Still a hiss.
    Today I gave up.
I loaded up a bunch of music on my Zumo 590. 32 gb card holds a LOT of music.
Set the Zumo to "shuffle", same as my Ipod.
Paired the headsets to the Zumo. Went for a ride.
NO HISS. Clear music LOUD enough to hear at 75 mph, even with earplugs.
Clear instructions, although now, I'm the only one receiving them. The passenger just gets the music and the intercom. No big deal.
I can pair my phone to the SENA, or the Zumo.
I'm not sure which one I'll use. I don't make outgoing calls when riding, but sometimes I get emergency calls from work, so I need to receive calls.

I know. I'm not going where no man has gone before. This set up has been readily available for many years.
For those who've gone before, I'm sure you're asking "WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG ?"
Still, I'm pretty happy with the new set-up.
All I can say is "WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG?"
If it ain't broke, don't break it.
